The Ultimate Homeschool Planner

Product Review

Have you seen this planner yet? It is well worth your time to see what Debra Bell has designed with homeschool moms and students in mind.  Let me give you the details through this The Ultimate Homeschool Planner Product Review.

My first impression of the planner was, “This is pretty.” It does not have a dull, plain cover or interior pages, which is what you may see with traditional planners.

You will quickly discover this is not an ordinary planner and realize there is more to scheduling your school year than writing lesson plans. The Ultimate Homeschool Planner contains a User’s Guide. This very helpful guide walks you through the necessary steps on how to organize your school year before you begin writing your lesson plans.

There is a One-year Planning Grid, which provides an overview of the upcoming school year. This is a place to record holidays, vacations, appointments, family commitments, co-ops, mandatory testing dates, state-required evaluation appointments, and other activities during the school year.

You will find the Monthly Planner section contains month-at-a-glance calendars. These calendars assist in carrying over the information from the One-Year Planning Grid and in fine-tuning your month. This will also be handy to help you see if you are over committing yourself.

The Weekly Planner section follows the Monthly Planner. This is where you will record your lesson plans. There is space for each child and the subjects you will teach. There is also enough room to include joint studies.

It is wise to pencil-in your information in the planner rather than using an ink pen. This will allow you the freedom to change what is and is not working rather than having the feeling the planner is “set in stone.” I appreciate Debra encouraging moms to review their school goals and lessons and make adjustments as needed. This is especially important for homeschool moms to realize flexibility is crucial in home education.

The student will not feel left out for Debra Bell also designed the Ultimate Daily Planner for Students. It is a wonderful tool to assist children in learning time management. The students record their weekly assignments from the Weekly Planner, which will assist the children in knowing what the expectations are when you are working with the younger children. The students also learn accountability by having a Friday review time with mom. This is an opportunity for the students to discuss what they accomplished during the week.

The Ultimate Homeschool Planner and the Student Planner provides many other nice features that set them apart from other planners. I will save those for you to discover.
